The other day I was lucky enough to be invited to a wonderful little event hosted by JewelleryBox at their pop up shop in Brick Lane. Unfortunately I didn't take many photos as my camera died, however it was such a lovely evening full of wine, temporary tattoos and of course, jewellery! Before the event itself a few blogger friends and I made a little trip to Winter Wonderland, which, luckily I did photograph! So here, enjoy a few photos :) 411ba687c185e01d479c90eee1c737a56878d34f46c13fa6ea
If you've been following me through this little blogging journey of mine you may remember the first blogging event I ever went to around a year ago now, link to a post on it here. A few days ago I went to take 2 of the same event which was hosted by the lovely Scarlett London, I went in not knowing what to expect apart from the fact that she hosts such kickass events it was bound to be awesome, and can I just say she did not disappoint. So without further ado here are a bunch of photos from this years Bloggers Festival!
So before Scarlett London's blogger Festival the other week (post coming soon!!) the lovely girls over at SoeursDeluxe arranged a Bloggers Lunch at Pizza Express so a bunch of us could meet and hang out before heading over to the event. Although I was terrified at first and didn't know what to expect I absolutely enjoyed it!
The other week I went to the launch party for an app called Vernez, it's a fashion based app where you can create your own little outfit boards and follow people and a bunch of other cool stuff. As someone who has no clue about fashion, for me this is a lifesaver! Anyway, it was a great evening full of free wine, meeting some super interesting people (including the lovely people who work at Vernez, some fabulous bloggers and even a boyband called Franklin Lake).
If you know me you'll know I'm a mahoosive book fan. I never really post much about books which is surprising because they're all I ever talk about everywhere else, so today I thought I'd share with you 3 of my current book favourites.
I first saw this film in the cinema with my parents, not the best choice I know, and not going to lie I wasn't expecting much. The only real reason I first gave it a chance was because it had queen Bella Thorne in it who is one of my favourite actresses of all time, she's just wonderful. Anyway in the end I was so glad I saw it as it's quickly become one of my top films and here's why.
You get stereotypes for everyone and everything in this day and age, even if you don't realise they're there they still lurk in the shadows haunting everything around you. As a writer I often find myself victim to these groupings, and if i'm completely honest I personally don't mind them one single bit. Now I'm going to tell you a little secret, and you have to promise you won't laugh. Pinky? Okay, sometimes I like to fall into these stereotypes just to justify my title of being a writer. Let me explain.
A place you feel at home. That's all most human beings want. Whether it's a physical place, or an emotional place of some sort, we all want it.
When I was a little kid my Mother used to work for The Body Shop, and she collected so many products that while searching through her boxes a few weeks ago I found 15, yes fifteen, of these body butters, and being the typical beauty fanatic I am I had to 'borrow' one to try out.
Earlier on this year I used to make posts where I set small goals for every month, and I never kept up the schedule for long, and with that today I'm bringing it back! Let's just say I need a push of motivation, and I also need to aim a tad lower every now and then.
I've wanted to do fashion posts on this blog for an awful long time but the fear of it can be pretty overwhelming considering I'm not the most body positive person out there. I mean I've uploaded a few here and there (and by that I mean like 2), but I'm determined to make it more of a regular thing now. So excuse me if I'm bad at this *quickly stalks 5 billion fashion blogs*
Recently I've been thinking and I kinda realised that I'm stuck. Not literally physically stuck to anything, but emotionally stuck. Stuck in this house, in this town, in this room, in this life. I'm stuck. Am I making sense? Probably not, but hear me out.
Last week on a spare day off me, my Mum and my Brother took a little trip to Bodium castle. We got a cute little steam train there and back, while feeling extremely British drinking tea during the journey, and then had a little wonder round the ruins. I obviously had to take my camera and snap a few photos (and by a few I mean a lot), but I've just chosen a couple to put on here and show y'all.
So after what was a long (ish) break I've finally returned to the bloggersphere and god am I excited. I have some super exciting things planned and I'm going to go back to my every other day posting schedule. So what have you missed? I mean that's the question on everyone's minds, right? Right. Apart from spending most of my waking moments marathoning Once Upon A Time (4 seasons in a week) and losing a LOT of sleep due to The Vampire Diaries, I have actually done some things productive.
This is such a hard post to write, but I know it's one that's important and I'd regret not making. I could just get up, run off and not let everyone know what's going on but then people may think I've abandoned this blog, which is the last thing I want to do. I've been having a hard time recently and I've decided to go on a bit of a break from everything. How long it'll be who knows, knowing me not for long, but I don't want to take the risk of not letting everyone know.
Like every blogger on the planet I'm a huge Lush fan, so when someone emailed me asking if I wanted to try any of their Easter products I was in complete shock and was lucky enough to receive these two beauties. If you want to view the full range you can find it over on their website HERE.
I've mentioned so many times on this blog that I find it extremely difficult to get into the right mindset, yet weirdly enough it's very easy to get out of it and into the wrong one. The good thing about music is how it can be such a mood changer and recently I've been into using it to motivate and inspire myself with everything.
Being a huge fan of Tanyas videos I obviously had to have a little try at her makeup range, yes I'm very late on this boat but better late than never right? I decided to try one of her lip glosses as I own way too many nail varnishes as it is, and I picked up the colour 'Vampire Kiss'. The package makes it look like a lovely pinkish red colour, and I'm all for more noticeable lip colours! This review was highly requested on twitter, and I've been practising writing them lately since I'm new to the whole thing.
While I'm currently writing this it's 2:40am, I can't sleep and I have a snoring dog at the end of my bed. Three cheers for Insomnia huh? I don't currently know what the point in this post is, I'm just sipping my tea listening to a very relaxing Spotify playlist and I just felt like writing. If there's anything I've learnt in my time as a writer it's to NEVER turn down a moment when you feel both motivated and inspired to write, mind block comes back way too quickly.
In one of my earlier posts Seaside Adventures I told you guys that I stayed with my friend Jess for a few days the other week, and during that stay she gave me an envelope that she was meant to give me a long time ago titled "Open When You Are Lonely". I had a little look and gosh did I have a good cry when I got home, it's genuinely one of the sweetest things I have ever received.
I've not been posting that much on beauty on here recently as I've been swaying towards lifestyle, however I'm bringing beauty back (totally didn't sing that in a Justin Timberlake voice) to even up the field a bit more!
A lot of people have been making videos based around this topic on Youtube as part of its 'Dear Me' Campaign, but I personally wanted to write a blog post on it instead as even though I do have a channel some things I find easier to express in writing form rather than video form. So here are 6 things I wish I'd know when I was younger.
1. Take everything a day at a time.
As a teenager I spent WAY too much time worrying about my future. Worrying about what was happening tomorrow, next week, when I was 30, and it meant I missed out on a lot and it also stopped my happiness. Instead of living in the moment and thinking about the now, I let my teachers and family pressure me into thinking way ahead into the future, and that wasn't what I needed at all.
2. Actually focus on your education
I wish I knew this even a year and a bit ago, rather than finding out not that long ago. I've messed up a lot of what I want to do by not focusing hard enough on my education and boy do I regret it. Even though a lot of people now say that education doesn't matter as much, trust me it does. It really really does.
She's been there since the beginning. She's raised you, been there through the thick and the thin and supported you no matter what. The bond between a Mother and her Child is one of the strongest things and I know that I personally wouldn't exchange mine for anything. Yeah you may have your ups and downs, gosh do me and my Mum have those a lot, but at the end of the day she's family. She's your Mum, and she would do anything for you.
I went to stay with my friend Jess last Thursday to Sunday, and for the first time I got to experience Eastbournes seaside, even if the weather wasn't that great. My Parents came to pick me up and we thought we'd chill and have a look around while we were there, since I don't think I've ever been before. We didn't stay long because it was freezing and the wind was insane, but I got a few lovely pictures while we did.
Today I thought I'd do more of a sit down and chat post, as all of them recently have been pre planned and scheduled and stuff, so I wanted to relax a bit more and just sit down at my computer and type. I apologise if this post is a bit all over the place.
Okay I know I was meant to be blogging daily and I haven't posted since Tuesday (are you all ready for a super lame excuse you're going to get around nowwww) but I have been super busy and I wasn't expecting to be! Meaning I didn't have time to plan and schedule posts since I didn't think I'd be doing anything. At least we can learn a lesson from this.
I realised that I haven't made a makeup post in a while and since beauty is also (well used to be) a huge part of this blog, I thought one was long overdue. I never used to wear lipstick as I was always too scared, especially not a bold lip, but lately I've been easing myself into it and now I wear it most of the time! Anyway, today I'm just going to be sharing with you my top 3 current lipstick favourites.
I realized earlier today that I never posted many photos from the December period, I was very lazy with my blogging towards the end of last year (well, saying that, most of the year recently) and since I had no time to write and plan a proper post today I thought I'd just share some unseen pictures with you all.
We all blog for different reasons, whether you actually know the reason you blog doesn't even matter, because at the end of the day it has a TON of different perks. I just thought I'd share with you all some of the reasons why I personally blog (apart from the fact that I love writing obviously, but that's a no brainer there).
I think people often forget about the small things. Life can be beautiful and an even bigger adventure if we all just stopped taking them for granted.
I've recently discovered Pinterest, it took me a while to get into it but I think I'm slowly grasping the basic concept, however I still don't understand how people spend hours on it! I love the idea of being able to pin anything and everything for inspiration, especially as if you've followed my blog for a while you'll know that I struggle with motivation and inspiration hugely.
How different are us bloggers and youtubers online to offline? Do you have a blogging alter ego?
Whether you mean to or not, I think we all seem to be a slightly different person on the internet. It's something we can't help. I mean it's a pretty easy thing to do. For example I come across a lot more confident and chatty online, whereas in person I'm shy, quiet, I keep myself to myself and I'm just generally a different person.
Now this year I decided not to set any new years resolutions as let's face it, who keeps them anyway? Instead at the beginning of each month I'm going to set some mini goals that will hopefully be a lot easier to keep, just small things to do/achieve throughout the month to keep myself busy or happier.
"Life becomes a lot more fun when you don't care what people think of you."
This is a hard one to remember, as human beings we have a bad habit of focusing too much of our time on other peoples opinions on us, how we look, act, come across, and it's something that is very hard to overcome. However once you have I PROMISE you that your life will be so much easier and you will enjoy it an awful lot more.
This may seem like a pretty pointless post to some of you, but I just wanted to show some new Soap and Glory products I've got, including this lovely Christmas gift set I received! I've fallen completely in love with this brand recently, and you never know, maybe one day I'll do a review on some of the products.
1. 'Sugar Crush' fresh & foamy body wash
2. 'The Righteous Butter' body lotion
Giftset includes:
1. 'Clean on me' creamy shower gel
2. 'The scrub of your life' body butter

Now I happen to be a huge home decor fangirl, take me into a shop selling furniture and cute things you can put around your house and I'm in complete heaven. I just thought I'd make this post to show you a few of my favourite things that I've put around my living area recently, because, well, why not!
First we have this 'Bits N Bobs' box that I picked up recently from The Works for only £2, I thought it was super adorable and for such a cheap price too. I haven't decided what to put in it yet, maybe just random things that I keep even though they have no meaning, but I'll find a use for it.
Secondly we have this Love sign, with 2 butterflies at the top, it's very pretty and looks nice on a windowsill or something like that, it's a lot more modern than the wooden box and looks more expensive, but it makes a nice touch.
Lastly we have a candle. No room is complete without a candle in my opinion, I can't get enough of them! This one is a Colony one in French Lavender. It's such a delicate smell yet unlike most similar light smells, it is actually noticeable and does make your room smell nice without being too overpowering and strong.
I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you all have a Happy New Year! Bring on 2015, I'm super excited to see what it brings!
