What To Do When The World's Against You.

Wednesday, 27 February 2019

I'm sure we all know the feeling of when you just can't help but think the world and everyone in it is completely against you, it's a natural human thought we will all have a few times in our lives. However some people will feel it a lot more than others and it can really get you down if you let it take over your mindset too much which is a straight up cause for trouble. I mean I know perfectly well that the world isn't against me and it's all just in my imagination, but when everything you could possibly think of is going wrong it can definitely get you down and make you feel like everything isn't worth it, and right now I know this feeling too well. I don't want to feel like I do, no one does, so today I thought I'd share a few ways to help you out when you're feeling like this, but remember that you aren't alone.

Sometimes giving up feels like a good idea. Sometimes loads of small things can go wrong but once you add everything up into one it creates a much bigger picture, and not exactly a positive one at that. I'm not going to share every puzzle piece that goes on in my life because not only is it personal but there's no point, this is a common feeling and everyone has their own reasons as to why they feel the way that they do, so my job here is to help you overcome it just like i'm trying to.

Take care of yourself. This is hands down the most important thing I could possibly think of, it may seem like nothing but it really is so vital. Make sure you're getting enough sleep at night (around 8 hours is recommended), and I don't mean going to bed at weird times and waking up in the middle of the afternoon, try to sleep at a reasonable time so you can wake up in the morning feeling refreshed. I know it's hard but trust me it's so worth it! Get enough exercise, eat healthily to a certain extent (trust me I'm not making you give up pizza or ice cream here don't worry, but just don't go too over the top with it!) They may seem so small and pointless but they really aren't, taking care of yourself and your body is key. Drink more water, do something you love whether it's watching a certain TV show, reading a book or seeing someone that makes you happy, just do things you enjoy and that you love to do and try to realise that self care is so so so important!

There's a quote that I've recently remembered by the one and only Winston Churchill - "If you're going through hell, keep going" and I feel like we could all learn something from it! When life gets tough it's easy to give up, I mean sometimes I feel like i'm just constantly trying and never getting anywhere and it's really off putting, I have moments when I just think I give up. I'm done, What's the point? If i'm never getting anywhere and just walking into the same old wall every time then really what is the damn point? But at the end of the day what is giving up going to do? I know it feels like keeping going isn't working but what are you going to get out of giving up? Okay yeah I'll admit it's the easiest and less painful option but it's the wrong one. No one said life was easy and I'm sure by now we all know it isn't, but giving up is never the answer. I live by this quote now and I think about it every single day when I want to give up (so a daily basis hah) but it really does help. One day all of these bad things will be over and all of the good stuff will feel so much better and you'll be thankful that you carried on trying, even if it felt like hell.

I know this was kind of short but do these things and I promise you that you will feel better, I know these won't take all of your problems away but they may be able to help you realise that the world isn't against you, there's no such thing. Moving on, I'm not far off 1.6k on bloglovin, so if you're interested in seeing my upcoming posts then be sure to follow me HERE! Soon I'll be adding a bit more variety to this blog with some beauty and fashion posts, along with some book reviews and etc, so be sure to look out for them. This will still be a lifestyle based place don't worry, but every now and then I think it'd be fun to mix it up a bit and throw in some other styled posts. Tweet me letting me know what you think because I'd love to hear your thoughts and don't forget to comment down below! Do you ever feel like the world's against you? How do you get through it? It'd be super interesting to read though anyones comments on this subject and to see if anyone has any advice they can add!

5 Pieces Of Advice I'm Glad I Never Took

Tuesday, 20 February 2018

Does anyone else think February has just completely flew by? January was the slowest month ever but now I feel like I can barely grasp time before it's gone, should I start preparing for Christmas yet? I wish I was joking but I think we all know it'll be here before we even know it! This post has been sitting in my drafts for a while as I've been so unsure on how to write it, I know people mean well with these pieces of advice but personally, I don't agree. Other people might have found them helpful but I just think they are cliche and far from it..

The Fear Of Rejection

Thursday, 15 February 2018

Now I think it's only human nature to be scared of rejection. To be afraid of being turned down or to fail. I understand that I completely do, I mean I've lived my entire life just like this and boy is it hard to get over (especially recently, but I won't touch on that here, click THIS link to subscribe to my new weekly newsletter where I'll go into depth on my personal fear of rejection in an email towards the end of next week!) I'm going to be blunt. Not everyone is going to like you. You could be the loveliest person to ever exist and a select few will still find something to pick at or a reason to hate you, no matter how lame or petty it is. That's just life, and it says a lot more about them than it does you. To start getting over your fear of rejection that's the first thing you have to accept. Accepted it yet? Good, soon you'll no longer care because let's be real, it's not worth it. It's a part of life. Nothing will change that no matter how hard you try.

Major Life Lessons You Can Learn From Gossip Girl

Sunday, 28 January 2018

Gossip Girl, one of the most iconic programmes out there and a show I personally can't get enough of. I don't think it matters how many times you rewatch the seasons, you never get bored of Blair's sass or Serena's naivety or how gorgeous Chuck and Nate are, forever crushing hard. Oh, and let's not forget how amazing some of the wardrobes are, I don't know about you but these kids are living my dream life. Aside from all of that the show does actually teach a lot of very valuable life lessons and today I'm going to share with you just a few.

7 Reasons To Start A Blog

Tuesday, 16 January 2018

I always get messages on Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat from people who want to start blogging and are too afraid to take the leap, I know there are a lot of blogs out there and to some people it may seem slightly intimidating (boy I know I was terrified when I first started and there was a lot less out there back then). Over the years my blog has turned into my life and I really do recommend starting one to most people, there are so many things you never even dreamed you'd learn from writing on a little website online but honestly you'd be surprised. I'm at the point where it's taught me so much and I'd feel so lost without it, something I never expected to happen, so today I'm going to give anyone who's nervous or worried to start 7 reasons why it could be the best decision of your life. Okay maybe that's a slighttt over exaggeration but we'll go with it okay?

New Year, Will There Be A New Me?

Monday, 8 January 2018

So it is officially 2018 wahheyyy! To be honest I really don't know where the time's gone, I feel like it's just been stolen from right out underneath us but I'm not complaining about that. The first few years I had this blog I was a proper sucker for 'new year new me' posts and resolutions and shizz however last year I drove past that (because we all know it just isn't true) and did a post on '16 Things I've Learned In 2016' which you can find HERE. I was going to do something similar this year but most of the things I learnt are pretty much the same so I thought it'd be pointless to bore you all with the same post AGAIN. Now we all say that a new year is going to be the change of us, but facing the facts we all know deep down it never is. I say I want to go to the gym or I want to eat healthy but they're all so unrealistic and impossible resolutions to keep to that you know they're just entirely pointless so this year I've decided to give myself just one goal.. to focus on myself.

Remarks You'll Get Tired Of If You're Always Single

Sunday, 19 November 2017

Now there is nothing wrong with living your life as a single lady (let's all high five in this together), whether it's by choice or just by pure unluck it's something we should enjoy. No drama, no arguing about what to watch on Nextflix, having a whole bed to ourselves, just plain out having no problems - unless you're one of those people who isn't in a relationship but still has relationship problems, girl I feel ya. At the end of the day there is nothing wrong with being single but I'm sure quite a few of you are also bored of certain comments, I know they are meant in a nice way but they just come across.. not so much.

Why I Love Autumn

Sunday, 8 October 2017

If you've been reading my blog or following any of my social medias for a while now then you will know how much I love Autumn and how much it excites me. I, and I'm not even remotely exaggerating here, spend the entire rest of the year looking forward to and planning for Autumn. One of the most popular questions I get is "so why do you love it so much? What's so great about it?" and let me tell you I have one long ass list to answer that with (if I'm being a bit sad here don't tell me, ignorance is bliss right?) so naturally I decided I had to share with you a few of my points as to why I love Autumn so much. So without further ado here are some of my favourite things about Autumn! I'll try not to include too many, promise.

Weymouth Diaries: Monkey World

Monday, 4 September 2017

I apologise for not uploading in a while but I do have a legit excuse this time (for once).. I've been on holiday. Okay it wasn't anywhere fancy abroad, I may have stayed in the country but I did travel 5 hours so maybe we could call it a break? Yeah, we'll go with that. I went on a family 'break' to Weymouth in Dorset and oh my gosh was it gorgeous! We packed so much into such a short space of time so we could make the most of it which is why I've decided to do separate posts on everything as there's just so many photos. Firstly I've decided to show you all Monkey World which is the first thing we did, personally I never even knew it existed but hey ho, the monkeys were literally the cutest things! They were quite difficult to get photo's of though with how packed it was and bearing in mind there was a fence between us which made it 50 billion times harder unfortunately. Quick warning, all these Weymouth Diaries posts I upload will be mostly picture based as I took quite a few, so enjoy!

5 Things To Remind Yourself Daily

Wednesday, 23 August 2017

We all have bad days, that's just something every single one of us has to go through and whether you have the occasional off days or pretty much every day is a bad day it's super hard not to let it overpower you. Lately I've been feeling pretty down in the dumps and I've been struggling to stop it from affecting my daily life (which is never a good idea, trust me), depression is a bitch but instead of letting it take my life downhill like I used to I'm trying my hardest to just carry on. So whether you're depressed or generally just having an off day, here are 5 things you should remind yourself daily.

Confessions Of A Blogger

Tuesday, 15 August 2017

As soon as I start blogging about how the weather is getting colder and Autumn is coming the sun decides to pop up and pay a surprise visit and I am not liking it. However we are coming up so close to September so soon Summer will be officially over and I will be in my own little heaven. This post has been sitting in my list for ages but for some reason (god knows what) I've just never gotten around to uploading it. All bloggers, and I mean all, have confessions like these that they had to admit, especially to themselves which is why I'm writing this post so we can all rejoice in how we deffo don't fit into the perfect blogging image that we all know doesn't actually exist. We all have things we need to work on and let's be real, if we don't admit what they are we'll never motivate ourselves to actually work on them, so moving on here are a few of my blogger confessions.

Weekly Blog Planner Freebie

Thursday, 10 August 2017

To my surprise a lot of you seem to like my blog related posts, whether it's advice or how to's they seem to be my most popular and my most viewed by far. Now I'm not an expert blogger and I'm not going to pretend to be, sometimes I can be the most unorganised person known to man (it will be my downfall one day I swear), but when it comes to this blog I at least try to get myself together and make it relatively easier for myself. Try being the keyword here guys. A lot of blog planners I see online are just too complicated, they have too many boxes I feel like I need to use but have nothing to put in and it really frustrates me, although they are helpful! I just thought I'd share with you the weekly blog planner I use, I like to keep it quite simple which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea but for me personally I find it so much easier and less daunting.
